The Gameplay and Odds of Mini Roulette

There are a lot of roulette variations out there, but the vast majority of them are played on the standard wheel with only minor changes. Mini roulette is a lot different. Instead of using the numbers 1-36 with zeroes, it only uses 1-12 with a single zero. This creates a lot different experience that’s very similar to big table roulette but with different odds and a smaller, more compact and fairly novel table. Here we want to show you the odds of this game and the different bets available so that you can get in on the action in an informed way.

To find the payout of any bet in mini roulette, divide 12 by the number of spots you’re betting on and subtract one from that. If you’re betting on a split bet for 1 and 2, then you’d divide 12 by 2 to get 6 and subtract 1 to get a payout of 5:1. Along similar lines, it’s 11:1 for a straight-up bet, 3:1 for a row bet and 2:1 for a column bet. Corner bets are also available in this game which allow you to bet on four numbers that come together to form a square, and they have the same 2:1 odds as a column bet since they are both a wager on four numbers.

While mini roulette is a fairly atypical game, there is one major disadvantage. Because this is a single-zero game, the house advantage on all of the bets is the same. Unfortunately, it’s a staggering 7.7 percent. This gives mini roulette a payout rate of 92.3 percent, the lowest payout rate by far of any type of roulette. In fact, this makes it one of the worst paying bets in any online casino, so you’re advised to play this game with care.

The best use for mini roulette is staging tournaments with your friends at small stakes. You can put up a prize pool of your own outside of the casino funds, and then you can see who can do the most with a set number of spins within a certain betting range. For example, you might take turns seeing who can do the most with $10 total worth of betting and then have an extra $20 entry fee that goes into prizes for the top places. Because this game has a much faster play style than full-sized roulette variations, it works out very well for this.
