Round Up of Microgaming Mobile Pokies Launched in 2013

Microgaming has released a steady flow of mobile pokies onto its mobile casino platform throughout 2013. The first one of the year was launched back on January 30th, 2013. This new mobile pokie was called Thunderstruck 2 and it was made available for Android / iOS devices.

“The use of hardware acceleration is transforming the way we develop our games for the mobile arena. It allows us to put our world-leading game titles onto the mobile platform, incorporating all of the graphics, effects and features that made the slot such a hit on the PC platform. Thunderstruck II is arguably one of our most popular and successful games, so it’s a great addition to our Mobile Air client,” said Microgaming’s Head of Product Channels, Neill Whyte.

On June 11th, Microgaming’s increased its portfolio of mobile pokies when it released Treasure Nile, Stash of the Titans, Cashapillar and Alaskan Fishing. “Microgaming Go now offers a total of 29 HTML5 games and leads the field with its breadth of mobile gaming content,” said Whyte.

On July 12th, Microgaming released Carnaval and Voila, taking the game count to more than 30 individual tiles and then on August 12th, Microgaming released Break da Bank, Big Top and Lion’s Pride. On September 5th, they released Couch Potato, 5 Reel Drive and Pure Platinum and then just in time for Halloween, Microgaming released Halloweenies and What a Hoot.

Finally, on November 5th, Microgaming released the HTML5 version of Thunderstruck 2, which meant that this popular pokie was now available across ALL of Microgaming’s impressive platforms. “Thunderstruck II is one of our most successful games and we are delighted that players can experience the world-renowned slot on any platform and desired choice of device,” said Whyte.

He continued, “We recognise the importance of developing games with cross-platform capability; our achievement with Thunderstruck II signifies the start of things to come.” The next game to be released on mobile was a pokie called Reel Thunder. This game became Microgaming’s 40th mobile casino game.

“We are very proud of our mobile achievements in 2013; we’ve released 21 HTML5 games, all of which are designed meticulously to provide the best possible mobile experience. We have spent years perfecting the art of creating graphically appealing, immersive and compelling games for PC, so why would we give the mobile player a different experience?

Our commitment to our mobile product will continue in 2014 with a more aggressive rollout of games, as well as the release of some exciting features designed to maximise the player experience.” These comments were taken directly from the official Microgaming website.
