Play Roulette Like an Expert in Your Very First Session
There’s a generation of online slots players who have gotten into slots while completely ignoring all other types of games. Because slots are so easy to learn to play and have virtually no learning curve, it’s very easy for newbies to jump in and enjoy them. There are tons of other opportunities out there for play in online casinos, but it’s often intimidating to try new things when you see how complicated some of these games look. Roulette is a game that looks a whole lot more complicated than it is, and we’re going to teach you to play roulette like an expert in your first session.
The first thing you need to know is that there are multiple types of roulette out there, and they aren’t all the same in terms of house advantage. You want to stick to European or French roulette and always stay away from American or mini roulette. With that having been said, the basic gameplay of roulette is as follows. You place bets on the table on individual numbers or groups of numbers, and then the wheel is spun with a little ball on it. The place where the ball lands determines the winning number for the bet. That’s all there is to it.
Different types of bets have different payouts. For example, a bet on just the number seven would pay out 35:1. However, a bet on all of the odd numbers would pay out at just 1:1. Something that’s really great about European and French roulette is that all of the bets have the same house advantage, so there aren’t any strategical advantages to making one bet over another. It all comes down to whether you want a low risk and a low reward or if you want a high risk with a high reward.
Roulette is a good choice for new casino players because it doesn’t take long to learn and you can get in on the action right away. If you want to know the payout rate for a particular bet, then there’s a quick shortcut you can use that’s perfect for new players. Divide 36 by the number of spots that will make your bet a winner, and then subtract one to get the payout. So if you place a bet on three numbers in a row, then divide 36 by 3 to get 12 and then subtract one to get your payout rate of 11:1.
